Terms of Service

Terms governing use of SkillShelf, including purchases, publishing, and liability.

Terms version: 2026-03-20

Japanese controlling text / English reference translation

The Japanese version is the controlling text. The English version is provided as a reference translation. If there is any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.

Payments are made directly from the buyer to the creator's Stripe account through Stripe Connect. For refunds, please contact help@agentskill-shelf.com. Updates released after purchase are not applied automatically. The version purchased at checkout is stored in the library, and obtaining an updated version requires a separate purchase. Paid purchases are not granted immediately after payment initiation. They are added to the library only after Stripe's formal success notification is confirmed. Until then, the purchase remains in a processing state. If the success notification cannot be confirmed within 24 hours, the case moves to manual review. After an author deletes a listing or sales are stopped, new purchases are no longer available. However, versions purchased before that point remain in history and can still be re-downloaded from the library. By contrast, after a refund or chargeback, only the purchase record is retained and the user can no longer download or review that purchase. For refunds, contact help@agentskill-shelf.com. SkillShelf reviews the circumstances and, where appropriate, processes the refund through Stripe. A chargeback is a separate procedure filed directly with the credit card issuer. Abusive use of chargebacks may result in permanent account suspension. Authors set the price of each Skill. Buyers must review each Skill's detail page before purchase and decide for themselves whether the content is worth the listed price. SkillShelf does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or effectiveness of author-supplied content. If a download failure, material omission, serious misrepresentation, or security issue is confirmed, SkillShelf will address the case under the refund policy. SkillShelf is not responsible for damage caused by content uploaded by authors. If content is found to be malicious, SkillShelf may immediately stop sales, suspend the account, confiscate proceeds, or take any other measure it considers necessary. Those measures are discretionary enforcement actions and do not create liability for damages. Before introducing any Skill into your own systems, you must verify safety yourself. SkillShelf is not responsible for temporary or long-term interruptions caused by system failures, scheduled maintenance, natural disasters, communication failures, or other force majeure events. The same applies to resulting damage, lost opportunities, or reduced revenue. Any damages for which SkillShelf is liable to a user are capped at the amount paid by the buyer in the transaction that gave rise to the claim, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The service is provided on an AS-IS and AS-AVAILABLE basis. SkillShelf does not guarantee continuous availability or error-free operation. SkillShelf is not responsible for non-performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including war, natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, government action, internet infrastructure failures, or suspension of third-party services including Anthropic. If you object to an account suspension, you may submit an appeal to help@agentskill-shelf.com within 14 days after receiving notice of the suspension. SkillShelf will notify you of the review result within 14 days. This procedure does not guarantee reversal of the suspension. For material changes to or termination of the service, SkillShelf will provide notice at least 30 days in advance through an in-service notice or by email to the registered address. If these Terms are revised, SkillShelf will notify users at least 30 days before the revision takes effect through in-service notice and email. Continued use of the service after the revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Logging in even once after the revision notice has been issued is treated as acceptance of the revised Terms. Because laws relating to AI and digital content may develop or change, parts of these Terms may become invalid or require revision in the future. SkillShelf reserves the right to revise the Terms in response to legal changes and will notify users through the designated notice methods. The Japanese version of these Terms is the controlling version. The English version is provided only as a reference translation, and the Japanese version prevails if there is any discrepancy. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between SkillShelf and the user regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements, negotiations, and representations. Failure by SkillShelf to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive SkillShelf's rights under that provision. Users agree to indemnify SkillShelf for damages, costs, and attorneys' fees arising from violations of these Terms, content uploads, or use of the service. Claims against SkillShelf are limited to the scope of the business operated as SkillShelf and do not extend to the operator's personal property. SkillShelf records agreement to the Terms, purchase records, and communication records in its systems. Those records may be used as evidence in dispute resolution. Users aged 13 through 17 must obtain guardian consent before using the service. If a user under 18 makes a purchase without guardian consent, SkillShelf is not responsible for the validity of that transaction. Guardians bear supervisory responsibility for minors' account use and purchases. For regions where tax or legal handling remains pending, including parts of Europe, users are asked to confirm their understanding before first download. Target countries are managed through environment variables and are not hard-coded into the implementation. Billing country is prioritized, with IP country used as a fallback. The UI refers to such areas only as currently pending regions and does not enumerate country names directly. The existence of a consent flow or record does not mean the service is immediately available in that region. Displayed prices are tax-exclusive, for example $10 before tax. Japanese buyers may incur separate consumption tax. Authors are solely responsible for tax calculation, collection, filing, and remittance. SkillShelf does not collect taxes as an agent. SkillShelf prohibits providing the service to countries, regions, individuals, or entities subject to export controls or economic sanctions under Japanese, United States, or other applicable laws. SkillShelf may suspend accounts where such concerns arise. Authors who use SkillShelf to sell paid Skills must connect a Stripe connected account. Payment information is processed by Stripe, and SkillShelf does not store card or banking information. Authors are solely responsible for tax reporting on revenue received from SkillShelf. SkillShelf assumes no responsibility for authors' tax treatment. Changes to the Platform Fee rate will be announced at least 30 days in advance through in-service notice and email. Continued listing after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fee rate. By uploading a Skill, the author grants SkillShelf a non-exclusive license necessary to display, sell, and distribute that Skill through the service. Copyright remains with the author. Authors are not prohibited from selling the same content on other platforms, but uploading to SkillShelf does grant SkillShelf this non-exclusive service license. Before purchasing, buyers must sufficiently review the description, category, version information, and other details shown on the Skill detail page. Dissatisfaction arising from failure to review the information before purchase does not constitute a refund ground. SkillShelf has no duty to mediate disputes between buyers and authors. However, matters involving material defects, prohibited content, or copyright infringement are handled under SkillShelf's refund and enforcement policies. Placement in curated shelves such as Staff Picks or featured shelves is determined at SkillShelf's discretion. SkillShelf is not required to explain why a listing was or was not featured, and such placement is never guaranteed. SkillShelf's logos, designs, wording, and other content belong to SkillShelf. Unauthorized reproduction or reuse is prohibited. SkillShelf is not an official Anthropic service or authorized partner. "Claude" and "Claude Code" are Anthropic trademarks. SkillShelf is operated independently from Anthropic, which has no operational involvement in SkillShelf. Although SkillShelf is operated with Anthropic's terms in mind, decisions by Anthropic to restrict Claude Code usage or change its service may materially affect SkillShelf. SkillShelf is not responsible for resulting damage. The service is currently designed primarily for Anthropic's Claude Code. In the future, SkillShelf may support sale of Skills for similar environments such as Cursor using .cursor/rules or other AI coding assistants. Supported environments are indicated on each Skill detail page. SkillShelf does not guarantee compatibility with any specific runtime environment. Skills sold on this service require Anthropic's Claude Code, which itself requires internet access, an Anthropic account, and separate Anthropic fees. Each purchased Skill corresponds to a specific Claude Code version environment at the time of purchase. If later Claude Code updates make the Skill incompatible, neither SkillShelf nor the author is obligated to provide compatibility updates. If the author later publishes an updated version, the latest version can be obtained through a separate purchase. Because Skills sold on SkillShelf are designed for Claude Code, specification changes, termination, or pricing changes by Anthropic may prevent purchased Skills from functioning properly. These are matters outside SkillShelf's control, and SkillShelf has no obligation to provide refunds or other compensation for such events. Users agree to pursue claims against SkillShelf only on an individual basis and waive participation in class actions or collective proceedings to the extent permitted by law. SkillShelf may stop listing, stop sales, delete content, suspend accounts, or take other necessary measures when it determines that a Skill presents serious risk, including illegality, harm to third parties, violations of payment provider or infrastructure rules, or sanctions or export-control issues. Even if a Skill could be used in connection with war, crime, or other harmful conduct, the purpose, manner of use, and results of such use remain the responsibility of the author and the user, and are not attributable to SkillShelf. Except where action is required by law, court order, administrative order, payment provider requirements, infrastructure provider requirements, or another legitimate authority or reasonable request, SkillShelf has no duty to treat such a Skill immediately under standards different from those applied to other products. SkillShelf is not responsible for crimes, war, or any other acts or consequences allegedly facilitated by a Skill. Where SkillShelf reasonably concludes that a Skill poses harm to buyers or other users, it may act in accordance with the Terms, Prohibited Content policy, Refund Policy, and other related rules displayed on the site and in the footer.
